The greatest miracle

March 29th, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

Hope you can listen to the message today, I really like the account in Mark 2.  It is just so full of the opposite of what we ‘normal’ people are expecting !

The native hockey tournament took place this weekend. At the time of this writing, the final game hasn’t been decided. Tabitha from Ft. McPherson was in town and came to the meeting this morning.  That made me think of our trip up there last fall.  Here’s a picture of some of the gang climbing on the Arctic Circle

Spring in the Yukon

March 23rd, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

It must be spring.

Last night it went down to -25C.  But then during the day it sprang back to plus 1 !  We are busy here in Whitehorse. Trying to ensure all the info we carry in our heads is down on paper so that things will be easier for the next officers, should we be moved.   Anyone want to buy a 1/2 share in a Cessna 120?  She’s a beauty! Located in Whitehorse Yukon.

Sunday’s message is about the relationship you can have with your maker. It’s really not about learning stuff about God; it’s about opening your spirit to him and he’s seeking for such people.

Fruitfulness – not to be confused with splashy accomplishments

Lakes near Whitehorse.

Well I’m again a bit late posting this week.  When you listen to the message, you’ll find it cuts off quite suddenly (if not quickly). That’s because I ran out of space on the recorder during the message.  It’s not a long message, but I haven’t erased previous ones for a long time.  Should be better this week.

Redemption

March 8th, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

Pelly from air.jpg Has the Lord spoken to your heart somehow? You know he’s good? Maybe you think you are not good enough to be one of his servants? Well, if you know HE is good, then that’s what counts. He redeems us; not us ourselves.

Hope you are doing well, and can take time to listen to the audio. And, if you even want to leave a comment, you can!  Don’t be too critical. :) I don’t have a team of editors and the message is rather off-the-cuff. But unless you swear at me, I’ll approve your comment. fireplace.jpg

Forgiveness -Don’t wait until you think you have enough faith to do it.

March 4th, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

Well, it still seems like winter. But to the uninitiated, let me explain how I know it is practically spring. In winter, it’s cold at night, and cold during the day. It’s also not day too much. In the spring however, it’s cold at night (-20 to -30) but it’s warm during the day (-5 to -12) and the day is getting longer. Already we have more daylight hours than down south.  The one thing I find strange and exciting about down south is that it can be both warm and dark at the same time. In the north, if it’s dark, it’s cold.

I went flying today….

Friend of sinners

February 22nd, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

When Jesus healed the blind man on the way to Jericho, everyone was praising Him! But Jesus alone knew that if they knew what he was thinking, they’d curse Him! Well, they found out soon enough. Jesus was thinking about being a sinner’s friend. Zacchaeus, to be exact.

Do you praise God for miracles?  What about sinners? Do you wish they’d all just die, or do you understand and accept Jesus’ mission on earth? To be the friend of sinners.

Faith; not law

February 22nd, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

Whatever may be said for the Law – that it is our school master, meant to bring us to Christ, or anything else – it is tragic when some leaders tell their people that God won’t bless them anymore unless they pay Him off. Really? As wierd as it sounds, that’s what Paul was warning the Galatians about.

On another subject, the Scriptures tell us that “those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise”.  Well, neither are those that compare others against others.  Let’s just give thanks for all things, in the name of our Lord.

Ephesians 6

February 14th, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

I put this picture up. It’s actually not yet flowering here. But in 6 short months, it will look like this:

But right now, of course it looks like this:

Today started out at -3o C and it’s sunny and clear. I’m a bit late adding last week’s audio file. It’s been kind of a rough week. Sometimes communication is soooo hard. Example:  “We need more peas”  Response: “I see you spent lots of money on peas, therefore you must need more carrots!”  ah….did I not say it right?…..  But this too shall pass. I guess.

Luke 13:1-5 Unless you repent…

February 1st, 2009 Posted in General | No Comments »

Have you heard this message? Unless you repent, there’s a very good chance that you’ll die a violent death. In your sins.  Well……  Why not listen to the MP3 to see what came to me while reading this Scripture.  (Now, in the unlikely event that you’re too distracted to click on the audio file, I will briefly sum it up)  I don’t think Jesus was meaning that ordinary sinners everywhere better repent to God, or they run the risk of being slain by swords or spears. But if you make a habit of arrogantly defying people, you’ll probably get beat up. On the other hand, God keeps hoping you will allow His Grace to flow through you to others.  But, you should listen to the audio.
